Nakafurano Town isthis kind of town.

  1. 01The town-run lavender garden on Mount Hokusei, the town's symbol, spreads lavender, sunflowers, marigolds and salvia; the Nakafurano Tourism Association calls it "the only lavender field in Japan with a lift" because it is originally a ski area
  2. 02Hills in the Beberui district hold poplar rows and beer-barley fields, and since 2015 the town has exchanged lavender seedlings with Misato in Akita
  3. 03Three Furano Line stations lie in town, and the summit of Mount Hokusei, about 5.5 minutes by lift, looks over the Tokachidake range and farmland
