01 / Yononushi's Tomb

With two stone gates and a double forecourt,the tomb is said to be that of Yononushi.

The tomb in Uchijiro, Wadomari, has a first stone gate, a second stone gate and an ossuary, and the tourism association says it has a double forecourt. Said to be the tomb of Yononushi, believed to have ruled the island around the 14th to 15th centuries, it was designated a national Historic Site on 17 February 2026 as part of the Okinoerabujima Ancient Tombs.

02 / Fucha

Fucha is the island's namefor a "seawater-spouting cave."

On the steep cliffs of the north coast, a vertical cave formed as raised coral reef was eroded by rough waves opens like a mouth. Kunigami's Fucha is a Wadomari town-designated scenic spot, and the tourism association writes that in strong winds the sea can spout tens of meters.

03 / Goran Magohachi's Castle Ruins

A castle that uses limestone terrainis said to be built by Yononushi's retainer.

Goran Magohachi was one of the four chief retainers who served Yononushi, who governed the island around the 15th century. The tourism association writes that the castle he built used the natural limestone karst, with stonework strengthening its function. The ruins are a Wadomari town-designated historic site and privately owned.

Wadomari has no railway; its gateway is Wadomari Port. The tourism association describes crossing by boat from Kagoshima and flying to Okinoerabu Airport from Kagoshima Airport and elsewhere. The airport is in the town, and in some weather ferries call at Inobe Port, also in the town, instead.
