The village's rice-field art began in fiscal 1993 (Heisei 5) with a rice-farming experience tour that drew Mt. Iwaki using three kinds of rice, including ancient rice. It was then called "rice lettering", and in fiscal 2006 red seedlings were added, giving more colours.

The village office building is modelled on Inakadate Castle. The village notes that a warrior's residence already stood here in the period of the Northern and Southern Courts, and that a clan lived at the castle in the Sengoku period. The building was acquired in fiscal 1995, and the castle site has a 1984 monument and a large Japanese honey locust.
