Four arrows shot by the priestforetell the year's luck and the rice crop.

The Omato-shiki target rite at Hitotsumatsu Shrine is said to have begun on the fourth day of the first month of 1534 (Tenbun 3). The priest shoots from about 15 meters at a 90 cm target made of 28 sheets of washi. The first arrow tells the year's luck; the second to fourth tell early, mid and late rice.
