Locals call the five large stones that remain in a rice field in Kamioka the Gokaishi, and have long said they are "the garden stones of the lord of Ema." An excavation ahead of land-improvement work found the site of a medieval warrior's residence with a garden. The garden and its kaisho (reception hall) were restored, and the garden became a national Place of Scenic Beauty in 2017.

The Shima and Shioya Kinsei Shrine sites in Miyagawa, both Jomon-period sites, preserve traces of making sekibo, or stone rods. The material, a welded tuff known as Shioya stone, can be quarried in the nearby mountains. The Middle Jomon Shima site yielded large stone rods, and the Late and Final Jomon Shioya Kinsei Shrine site yielded small ones. In March 2026 the Council for Cultural Affairs recommended designating them an Important Cultural Property.
