The Ogose wells, dug where water was scarce, measured 68 to 95 m at three sites.

To secure water for daily life, Hayashi Yakichi and others took the lead, and the village records that the wells were dug in 1886–1888. In 1988 the lengths of three of the five were surveyed: the longest was 95 m in total, and even the shortest was 68 m.
