At 205 m above sea level in Toshima, rain divides here, south to the Ota River and north to the Gono River. The spot is called Nakiwakare (泣き別れ, "parting in tears"). The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism explains that the valley of the Misasa River is thought to have seized a river that flowed north.
