The hall of the Nayoro Church, United Church of Christ in Japan, is City Cultural Property No. 3. It was built by the family that founded a woodworking company in 1907. The straight gable front and tall windows with rounded tops give a Western impression. In 1923 a half-basement was added for Nayoro's first kindergarten, giving it nearly its present form.

The Nayoro city website calls the pendulum in the Kitaguni Museum's entrance hall a valuable installation that few places in Japan have. The city says it carries the image of the sun pillar, a natural phenomenon typical of Nayoro winters. The museum stands on a hill south of Nayoro Park, on the former Nayoro Line site.
