01 ／ Rebun Atsumorisou

Found only on Rebun Island,the lady's slipper is being propagated.

The Rebun Tourist Association calls Rebun-atsumorisou an endemic species found only on the island. As poaching and habitat decline cut its numbers, the environment office, the forest office and Rebun Town set a roadmap for protection and propagation. Its colony is a Hokkaido natural monument.

02 ／ Clear Sea Cape

The association calls the sea's clarity"the most beautiful on Rebun."

The Rebun Tourist Association describes a Cape Tour route that links several capes, including the Clear Sea Cape, and ends at Hamanaka. At the Clear Sea Cape, it says, you can enjoy the clearest and most beautiful sea on Rebun, before the route continues to the Rebun-atsumorisou colony.

03 ／ Funadomari Site Finds

Jade from Itoigawa tells of tradereaching far around the Sea of Japan.

At the Funadomari site, dated to the early to middle Late Jomon, many shell beads and jade pendants came from burial pits. The 1,616 finds, including shell ornaments, are a national Important Cultural Property. Some shells live south of southern Honshu, and with jade from Itoigawa they tell of distant trade.

Travel times follow 島の町の決め（長崎の対馬・壱岐・五島、愛媛の上島町と同じ。町内の玄関口の港へ乗り換えなしで着く船の起点の都市名と、事業者名だけを mode に）。事業者公式・ハートランドフェリー『時刻表稚内～礼文島』（https://heartlandferry.jp/timetable/time1/ 。2026-10-29 に読んだ。ページの見出しは『2026年1月1日～12月31日』）の『稚内発～香深着』の表。通年の直行便はどの期間も稚内→香深が 115分：1/1〜4/27 と 11/1〜12/31 は 06:35→08:30・09:00→10:55（香深発〈稚内着〉）・14:10→16:05・17:05→19:00、4/28〜5/31 と 10/1〜10/31 は 06:30→08:25・14:45→16:40・17:05→19:00、6/1〜9/30 は 06:30→08:25・10:30→12:25・14:20→16:15・14:50→16:45・17:10→19:05（いずれも 115分）。利尻島〈鴛泊〉に寄る便（表で＜＞で囲んだ 10:10→13:00 などの 170分）は経由便なので採らない。同じ船が稚内から香深港に直行するので乗り換えなし。 (checked 2026-10-29).
