It was found on a slope at Karasawa in Soshi during construction of the Tomei Expressway and dug out in 1969. The inside is about eight tatami mats wide. Cloth-pattern tiles and other tiles with the same design as those from the Chiyo temple site came out, and it is estimated to date from the Nara period. The kiln has been reconstructed and moved to the Saimyoji site.
