01 / Amura Gatakiri-bushi
Three hundred people from Amura went out to work;the reclamation work song is passed down in dance.
In 1821 (Bunsei 4), work began on a new reclaimed tract at Bunsei Village (文政村) in Yatsushiro District, across the water, and 300 people from Amura went to work on it. The city describes the Amura Gatakiri-bushi (阿村潟きり節) as a work song based on the tragic love of O-Kiku (お菊) and the work supervisor (利兵衛), and says the dance conveys the work scenes of the time. It is a city-designated folk performing art; pupils of Amura Elementary School performed it in February 2025.
