At the southern tip of Nozaki Island lie the ruins of Funamori (舟森), a village. Stone-walled field terraces on steep slopes remain; the tourism site describes countless terraced fields made by human and ox power alone. On the coast of Madarajima (斑島) is a pothole locally called "Tamaishi-sama" (玉石様). It is 3 m deep, 90 cm across at the top and 60 cm at the bottom. A perfectly round stone sits at the bottom and turns as seawater enters, and the Agency for Cultural Affairs writes that the pothole's formation can be observed. It was designated a national Natural Monument in 1958.

03 / Ushi no To

Ojika Island, once two islands, was joined by land reclamation.

The tourism site writes that Ojika Island was originally two islands, and that the Ushi no To (牛の塔, Tower of the Cows) honors the cows that died in the work of reclaiming the narrow strait between them. The tower stands on the Funase (船瀬) coast in Nakamura (中村郷), and is a town-designated cultural property. The paddies made then are called Kenmu Shinden (建武新田).
