01 / Tsuneyama Castle Site (常山城跡)
A castle built on a hill with a fine view:its first holders, the Ueno, fell in the Tsuneyama battle.
Tsuneyama Castle, straddling Tamano and Okayama, was built in the early Sengoku period for its outstanding view. Until it was abandoned in the early Edo period, about 100 years, the Ueno clan, Mori garrison commanders and the Tomikawa, senior retainers of the Ukita, held it. The first, the Ueno, fell in the Tsuneyama battle of 1575.
