Fourteen villages agreed on howthe pond would be managed and run.

Kumeda Pond (Kumedaike), which spans Ikejiri-cho and Okayama-cho, is a reservoir said to have been built by the priest Gyoki. In the medieval period its management passed from Kumeda-dera Temple to the "Kumedaike-go," and 14 villages ran it by agreement. Excavation in 2007 found a granite stone conduit about 60 cm wide and about 24 m long, with 12 cover stones.
