The main hall dates to 1732, raised in an unusual way: Osaka carpenters shaped the timbers in Osaka, then carpenters from Yonago assembled them on site. It was named a National Important Cultural Property in 1992.

From the Meiji and Taisho eras into the 1950s, squid reportedly swarmed ashore on the beach before the shrine almost every year. That has become rare, but in 2006 a shoal reportedly reached the beach again after more than ten years.
