Cross the Takasu Bridge over the Tenryu River from the Tomiyama district of Toyone Village and you enter Shizuoka Prefecture, where Ozore Station on the JR Iida Line stands close by. Its address is Tenryu Ward, Hamamatsu. Since most users are Tomiyama residents, the tourism association says the district manages it. The village chronology dates the bridge to 1956 (Showa 31).

02 / Kawaure hananoki habitat

A tale survives that a sappanwood chopsticktook root and became a hananoki.

A habitat of hananoki trees in the grounds of Kawaure Shrine, at the foot of Mount Chausu, designated a national natural monument on October 12, 1922 (Taisho 11). The national database cites the report of the time, which records about fifteen trees growing mixed together in a wetland. The tourism association records a tradition that Prince Yukiyoshi stayed there and a sappanwood chopstick took root.
