Futatsumori Site01 ／ Votive plaques
The 108 votive plaques (ema) offered at a Fudo hall in Shichinohe are a national Important Tangible Folk Cultural Property. The prefecture says horse designs are the most common, at 92. The Agency for Cultural Affairs notes many small plaques of a fixed style that show a horse glancing back to the left.
02 ／ Shichinohe Castle Site
The northern enclosure of Shichinohe Castle Site was excavated over about 8,200 square meters from 1991 to 2004 for site restoration. From finds including over 150 earthfast-post building sites, the town says it held residential halls and a treasure hall, and was the center of the castle in the late Sengoku period.
03 ／ Morita Ranch stables
At the Morita Ranch in Shichinohe, eight structures are Registered Tangible Cultural Properties: Stables No. 1 to No. 5 and the front hall, rear hall and torii gate of the Batokannon hall. Stable No. 1, registered as a Nanbu magariya young-horse rearing stable, was built in 1912 of two-story thatched timber, with 368 square meters of floor area.
