Border posts stand beside the groove. The story goes that Shizuka Gozen, lodging on the Omi side, asked Yoshitsune's retainer, lodging on the Mino side, to take her along; travelers in both inns told it as they lay in bed, and so local people named the place, they say. The tourist association presents it as a legend.
