On the small wall panels inside the Kannon hall, horses are painted.

Bussho-ji's Kannon hall in Kuriyama was built in 1680 by Yamakawa carpenters of Yuki, as a ridge-plaque shows. Horses are painted on its inner wall panels, a subject the town calls unusual for such a hall. The Niomon gate, a two-story tower gate, dates from 1774.
