Niihari Haiji Ruins are the remains of a temple built in Niihari District of Hitachi Province in the Nara period, and a national historic site. Excavation from 1939 showed that the east pagoda, main hall and west pagoda stand in a straight line. The east pagoda's base holds a pagoda foundation stone, and inscribed roof tiles have been found. Nearby, the Niihari District office ruins are also a national historic site.

The Arakawa residence stands along National Route 50 in Tamachi, Chikusei, with a storehouse-style shop and a Western-style house, and is a Registered Tangible Cultural Property. The main house, built in 1933, is an Art Deco Western-style building whose pyramidal roof the city says evokes the imperial-crown style. The shop, built in 1907, is a two-story earthen-walled building. Pine-and-crane plaster reliefs decorate the wall of the inner storehouse.

The Birthplace of Itaya Hazan is a prefectural historic site. A single-story wooden house with a tiled roof, its two reception rooms date from the mid-Edo period, and the city says the surviving room is the one where Hazan was born. The Itaya family were an old family of soy sauce brewers on Tamachi Street, and the house was moved in 1937 when a town road opened. At the memorial museum, a round kiln used at his Tabata studio has been re-erected.
