01 / Asteroid Geisei (小惑星ゲイセイ)

Seki Tsutomu found the asteroidnamed Geisei, at Geisei.

According to the Minor Planet Center, asteroid (2571) Geisei was discovered on October 23, 1981 by Seki Tsutomu (関勉), and is named for the location of the discoverer's observatory. The prefectural Geisei Astronomical Learning Center (芸西天文学習館) was completed in March 1981. The prefectural board of education says the building has been closed since November 2025, while the neighboring observation dome can still be used.

02 / Kotogahama Pine Grove (琴ヶ浜松原)

Kotogahama is a gently curving beach about 4 km long, east to west. In the prefecture's list, Kotogahama Pine Grove is a scenic site designated on May 31, 1952, managed by Geisei Village. An open-air theater overlooks the Pacific, and the village walking guide mentions viewing the sea from a wooden deck and strolling the pine woods.

03 / Shiratama Sugar (白玉糖)

Sugar-making, once a domain monopoly,became a village-wide sideline in the Meiji era.

According to the village, the sugar-making behind Shiratama-to (白玉糖) has been carried out since around 1830 (the Tenpo era), when it was entirely a domain monopoly. After the monopoly ended in the Meiji era, it spread across the village as a sideline. Shiratama-to is brown sugar boiled down from sugarcane juice, and the Denshokan (伝承館) holds sugar-making work from mid-November to around the end of December.

The village is bounded by the Pacific to the south and mountains to the north, and the Wajiki River (和食川) and its tributary the Hase River (長谷川) form a plain of about 300 ha near the river mouth. The mild climate suits greenhouse horticulture, which raises eggplant, bell peppers and cut flowers. Bluestar (ブルースター) was branded in 2006 (Heisei 18), and the village says it holds a 90% national share, mainly in the bridal trade.

The village walking guide describes the site of the Chiya family, where Kimie married in, as the former estate of the village headman with whom Oryo, Ryoma's wife, stayed.
