Tano Town isthis kind of town.

  1. 01Oka Goten was the house of the Oka family, first among Tano's five wealthy merchants, and was built as a lodging for the domain lord in shoin style. Built in Tenpo 15 (1844), it is a prefecturally designated cultural property and is open to visitors for a fee.
  2. 02Fukuden-ji holds the tomb of the twenty-three samurai beheaded on the Nahari riverbank, and the Tachioka No. 2 Trestle of the Yanase Forest Railway is a viaduct relic that curves as if to avoid the fields. The Aki District magistrate's office and the domain school Tano Gakkan stood on what is now the prefectural Chugei High School campus.
  3. 03From the mid-Edo period, Tano prospered as the merchants known as the Tano Gonin-shu (田野五人衆) developed mountain forest resources, and the town was called "Tano Senken ga Ura" (田野千軒が浦). It became a town in 1920 and has not merged.

If something caught your eye, ask the town itself.
