The hall has three bays by four, one story, a hip-and-gable roof and a thatched roof. Cultural Heritage Online gives its date as "mid-Muromachi / 1408," and the town's list gives Oei 15 (1408). It was designated an Important Cultural Property in 1907. At the same temple, the Twelve Divine Generals and the Nikko and Gakko Bodhisattvas are town treasures.

02 / Daifu Senryo Embankment

The Matsu River was redirected to the town's south.Part of that embankment survives.

The Matsu River once ran northwest through the center of town. From the late Sengoku to the early Edo period, the Senryo Embankment was built in the town's southeast, and the river took its present course. A prefectural legend card says Fukushima Masanori, who ruled the area from Genna 5 (1619), built it; the town's history does not name who built it.

In the 1980s, around the Takai Kozan Memorial Hall and Hokusai-kan, a "streetscape restoration project" began, run by six landowners including the local government. Spaces such as the chestnut-wood-brick "Chestnut Lane" came to symbolize Obuse today. The town records that the idea "inside is mine, outside is everyone's" spread across the town.
