Take home one of the Bizen-ware oxen offered, and return it with one more when a wish comes true.

The shrine has a torii gate but no sanctuary building; its object of worship is a stone ox 40 cm tall. Visitors offer a Bizen-ware calf, take home one already offered, and, on fulfillment of a great wish, return it together with one more. The 5th of each month is a festival day, and the New Year's festival on January 5 draws the biggest crowds.

Hinase's Spanish mackerel was called "Uoshima sawara".

  • about 30,000 people

Bizen lies in the southeast of Okayama Prefecture, facing Katakami Bay, and Hinase has many islands. The city fish is the Spanish mackerel; the city museum records that in the late Edo period drift-net boats went far out for it, and Hinase boats' mackerel was called "Uoshima sawara" at the Osaka fish market and sold at high prices.
