For 38 years, a Nakafuji onmyoji and priestwrote down village events and the weather.

The Sashida Diary was kept by Sashida Settsunokami Fujiakira, an onmyoji and Shinto priest of Nakafuji Village, from Tenpo 5 (1834) to Meiji 4 (1871), in 16 volumes. Besides his onmyodo and priestly work, it records village events, annual observances, weddings, funerals and the weather. It is a city-designated tangible cultural property.

Oisenomori Shinmeisha is the general guardian shrine of the two villages of Yokota and Nakafuji. The city's history walk guide says a document of Enkyo 4 (1747) already records the Shinmeisha, so it was probably founded before then.
