The town's booklet says the 17th head priest of Ankokuji Temple completed this gate in 1764. It is a two-story gate with Nio guardian statues in the rooms on either side, and its bracket sets mix the Tenjiku (Indian) and Kara (Chinese) styles. The roof was once thatched; repairs in the Taisho era replaced it with zinc-coated iron sheets.
