In 1947 a pot from the early Middle Yayoi period was unearthed from a field in Daichi-cho, and the pottery group spread mainly across the northern Owari Plain came to be called Daichi-style pottery. A 1951 excavation found the remains of a pit dwelling, and the site became a prefectural historic site in March 1954. The historic park has a conjectural reconstruction of a pit dwelling.
