The town describes the Shoeido as a mausoleum building that Tadafusa, the 6th head of the Fukozu Matsudaira family, lords of Shimabara, built to enshrine his father Tadatoshi. A full dismantling repair began in Reiwa 4 (2022), and reassembly took place in fiscal Reiwa 7 (2025). Excavation of the platform confirmed a stone chamber inside it.

The town's newsletter writes that Kinnosuke Kamino's reclamation of Hishiike in the Meiji era was inevitable for the southern Nukata-gun, a region that developed together with the pond. The local museum has an exhibit on the reclamation, and the Kota Kite Festival is held within the Hishiike reclaimed land.

A town-designated Natural Monument, the tree is recorded by the town as 300 years old. The town explains that Fudegaki grew wild at the foot of Mt. Sangane and had long been a household fruit in gardens. In the Showa era, Sumi, Kiriyama, Nagamine and other areas were developed as production districts, and terraced orchards now shape the local landscape.
