01 / Hill path
Kesawa, the discarded rings from firing clay pipes, are laid across the hill path.
Dokan-zaka Hill lies about 10 m south of the Takita family's shipping-agent house on the Pottery Footpath. Its walls are covered with Meiji-era clay pipes and early Showa shochu bottles. The path is laid with kesawa, discarded rings from firing clay pipes, so that walkers do not slip, the Tokoname Tourism Association writes.
