This tsujikiri is a ritual to keep evil spirits and plague out of the village; the city introduces it as held on the first horse day of February each year. At the hamlet's Yasaka Shrine, east and west teams each make one serpent, then wind them around standing trees by the roads at the southwest and northeast of the hamlet. It is a city-designated Intangible Folk Cultural Property.
