Designated a national historic site in October 2021, it covers seven places: the Otanabashi (大田林) salt bed, thought to be a medieval salt field; Tosen-ji, Takahama Hachiman Shrine, Ganjo-ji, Yuge Shrine and Joko-ji; and Hyakkanjima with its surrounding waters.
