01 / Taihoji Main Hall
The main hall, with round pillars, placessimple boat-shaped brackets only at the four corners.

The main hall of Taihoji temple in Minamiedo 5-chome, Matsuyama. Built in the Amida hall form of the late Heian period, it is thought to date from the early Kamakura period. The roof was originally thatched and is inferred to have been retiled in 1745 (Enkyo 2). This is a different temple from Daihoji in Kumakogen, Temple 44 of the Shikoku 88 Temples.

- Valued as the oldest wooden building in the prefecture (city, prefecture)
- The shrine inside dates from 1631 (Kan'ei 8)
