The Arioka Kofun Cluster (有岡古墳群), six mounded tombs built between the late 3rd and early 7th centuries, was designated a National Historic Site in 1984. The Ōhakayama Kofun (王墓山古墳) yielded a gilt-bronze crown cap and an iron sword with silver inlay, while the stone chamber of the Miyagao Kofun (宮が尾古墳) bears line-engraved images of warriors, a horse and boats. The city says decorated tombs like this have been confirmed nowhere else in Shikoku but Kagawa Prefecture.
