Its name comes from how it dips under the water when the river is high. According to the town, the riverbed rock is deep at the center, so it was built on mokko-shizumi (a bed of packed split stones), and the newly finished center section was washed away by a flood. The town's 2012 landscape page states that it is closed to traffic because of age.

  • Built in 1935
  • Registered Tangible Cultural Property (registered 2000)
  • 61 m long, 2.5 m wide (Agency for Cultural Affairs)
  • Reinforced-concrete girder bridge with nine spans

It is offered at Hoshi Shrine.
