A spring with no clear water-drawing spotwas divided into bathing and washing places.
A shared spring in the middle of the village district. In the early Taisho era, water welled out of three cracks in the Ryukyu limestone, and the water-drawing area had no clear bounds. In 1924 it was divided into bathing places for men and women, a washing place for sweet potatoes and vegetables, and one for cattle and horses. The first water drawn on New Year's Day was also used in celebratory rites.
