01 / Yagi House

The stone of the wall, hinpun screen and wellis Ryukyu limestone from local Minatogawa.

The Yagi House in Oton district was built from 1952 to about 1955, and five items, the main house, annex, well, hinpun screen and stone wall, were registered as national Tangible Cultural Properties in 2009. The wall runs 50 m in total and the hinpun is 1.6 m high; the Agency for Cultural Affairs notes that the look of awaishi stone shapes the grounds.

02 / Tomori Stone Lion

It is a prefectural Tangible Folk Cultural Property. The town says villagers were told by a geomancer of Kume Village that Mount Yaese holds the nature of fire, and set up a lion form facing the mountain; it adds that this is said to be the start of village stone lions. 18 stone lions survive in 9 districts of the town.

03 / Hananda

A natural bridge about 30 m long, formed byerosion and collapse, is used by residents daily.

It is a natural bridge over the Shirami River in Gushichan district, and became a national Registered Monument in 2021. The Agency for Cultural Affairs describes it as about 30 m long and 10 m wide, formed by erosion and collapse of Ryukyu limestone, about 8 m above the water, long loved as a scenic spot and used daily by residents.
