Tamagusuku Castle Ruins stand on a hill that looks out over Kudaka Island and the central and southern parts of Okinawa Island, and were designated a national Historic Site in 1987. The castle consisted of a main enclosure, a second enclosure and a third enclosure. The city's tourism portal says a limestone gate stands at the top of a steep stairway.

02 / Chichinga Well

Stone steps, 43 of them, are laid downto the spring of a well outside the castle wall.

Chichinga is a well built outside the wall of Shimashi Ozato Castle in Ozato, said to have been used as the shared well of nearby hamlets. The spring is about 8 m below ground level, and 43 stone steps are laid down to it. It is estimated to have been built around the 14th century.

03 / Funjiru Furnace, Hyakuna

A furnace for burning paper that has been written onstands in Hyakuna.

A funjiru is a furnace for burning paper that is no longer needed after being written on, a custom from China that valued written characters. The one in Hyakuna is built of four flat limestone slabs, with a rectangular opening in front for the paper and a round opening at the back for smoke.
