01 / Road
An embankment said to run about 27 km.Its traces can be seen near Hon-machi 2-chome.

Toyotomi Hideyoshi ordered Mori Terumoto, Kobayakawa Takakage and Kikkawa Hiroie to develop it in Bunroku 5 (1596) as the shortest land route between Kyoto and Osaka. It became the Kyokaido road, and repeated improvements to the Yodo River erased almost all of the embankment. The city's walking map shows a cross-section of it beside Moriibashi Bridge.
