Koshigaya Lake Town (越谷レイクタウン) was laid out together with the Ōsagami Regulating Pond (大相模調節池), which eases flooding, and opened as a town in 2008. The pond covers about 39.5 ha and can hold up to 1.2 million m³ of water. By the station, Aeon Lake Town has more than 700 shops across three buildings, and in May 2026 a new waterside area opened on the pond.

Koshigaya daruma (越谷だるま) have pale faces and slightly high noses, a refined look. It is thought that Edo, their main market, was close enough for high noses to survive the journey unbroken. By one account they were begun around 1713 by a doll maker in Makuri (間久里); in 1984 they became a prefecturally designated traditional handicraft. They still go to Kawasaki Daishi and Shibamata Taishakuten.
