01 / Rivers
Three rivers write 川,the character for "river".
The Edo River bounds the town on the east and the Ōotoshi-Furutone River (大落古利根川) on the west, and with the Naka River (中川) running through the middle, the three flow north to south like the three strokes of 川, "river". Fields spread over flat land 4 to 6 m above sea level, and about 150 cherry trees line the Furutone River bank for 1.5 km. The Furutone River Cherry Blossom Festival (古利根川桜まつり) runs from late March to early April.
