The former Koyaguchi Jinjo Koto Shogakko school building became an Important Cultural Property in 2014. The Agency for Cultural Affairs writes that it was built in Showa 12 (1937), with the north-south wing on the east side of the grounds as the front and four east-west wings behind it in a comb shape, covering more than 3,500 square metres. Renovation including seismic reinforcement was completed in Heisei 23 (2011), and it is still used as an elementary school.

The Jinbutsu Gazokyo mirror, handed down at Suda Hachiman Shrine, is a National Treasure. The Japan Tourism Agency's commentary says it is a bronze mirror from around the fifth century, and that the reversal of some of its 48 kanji characters shows the casters were not yet used to writing. The Tokyo National Museum is the repository of the original, and the commentary says a large replica is displayed at the shrine.

The city's tourism site says that Ogo Shonin, who trained at Koyasan, founded a town to open up wasteland at Kosada and built a bridge of about 235 metres over the Kinokawa River, and adds that the name Hashimoto is said to have come from it. He petitioned Hideyoshi and was granted a licence to trade in salt and an exemption from taxes, it says.
