The base of each statue bears an inscription such as "Showa 4, tenth month, 23rd day", showing that the Buddhist sculptor Shoson made them in 1315. The Agency for Cultural Affairs, which lists the three as an Important Cultural Property, calls them the oldest surviving example of statues for a Sengen shrine. They are enshrined in a main hall inside a cover building that doubles as the worship hall; the main hall is prefecture-designated.

02 / Uchino canal

Water from Lake Yamanakawas brought to Uchino's fields by tunnel.

Uchino relied on Lake Yamanaka for part of its farm and household water. According to a 2010 paper by Fumihiro Yoneyama, the Uchino canal then drew water directly from the lake through a tunnel. A fall in the lake level reduced the flow, and the water-rights association set up the post of water watcher, who reports the flow at the intake to its officers.

The village's guide describes a two-stream waterfall fed by Oshino Hakkai and a tributary of the Katsura River, with a drop of about 10 metres. The rock it falls over is all lava from eruptions of Mount Fuji. It is also described in the Kai Kokushi, and it seems to have been called Kane-ga-fuchi, a deep pool, in the past.
