Toryunada (闘竜灘) is a stretch of the Kakogawa river bed filled with strange rocks; the water leaping over them was likened to dragons fighting, which gave it the name. Ayu fishing opens on 1 May, the earliest in Japan, and a local method called kakehi-ryo uses the rocks and the fish's urge to swim upstream.
