01 / Shrine guilds
Eight miyaza guilds carry out the rites, from February's Igomori to October's Hyakumi no Onjiki.

Wakidenomiya is the popular name of the shrine, which by its own tradition began in 766 when a deity was invited from Ise. The city presents the Igomori Festival as the oldest festival in southern Yamashiro; villagers are said to have stayed indoors without a sound. The rites also include the Onago-za festival and the Ae no Sumo.
