Three-wheeled floats strike up at midnighton Shingaku day, to the priest's drum.

Small carts that carried stones developed into three-wheeled floats. Each carries twelve lanterns arranged in a mountain shape at the top and gongs at the rear. On Shingaku day, the day before the main festival, the floats of every neighborhood start striking at midnight to the sound of the kagura drum beaten by the priest of Kasuga Shrine (Kuwana Sosha).
