01 / Gyoki's tomb
A gilt-bronze fragment was kept by a familysaid to descend from a disciple of Gyoki.

Gyoki's tomb stands within the grounds of Chikurinji Temple, a square mound about 10 m on a side. The city explains it as the burial place said to be where Gyoki, as he had instructed, was laid to rest in the eastern hills of Mt. Ikoma. It was opened in 1235 (Bunryaku 2), and most of the finds were later scattered. The fragment now at the Nara National Museum was kept by a family in the same district said to descend from a disciple of Gyoki; eighteen characters can be read.
