The Tanna Fault, which moved in the 1930 North Izu earthquake, is a national Natural Monument. At Tanna Fault Park (丹那断層公園) the fault cuts across stone walls and a waterway, and the horizontal offset of about 2.6 m can be seen as it was left. It is an active fault that moves roughly every 700 to 1,000 years.
