The furnace that made cannon, the only one left in Japan.

Proposed by the local magistrate Egawa Hidetatsu to cast cannon for the Shinagawa sea forts, and completed by his son Hidetoshi in 1857, the Nirayama Reverberatory Furnace stands about 15.7 m tall. It is the only furnace of its kind in Japan that actually operated and survives, and became World Heritage in 2015. From the tea field opposite, it lines up with Mount Fuji.
