The sacred camphor of Kinomiya Shrine measures 24 metres around the trunk. Walking once around it is said to add a year to your life. It is lit from 17:00 to 23:00, which turns the visit itself into something to see.

The early plums of Atami Plum Garden start opening in mid-November. The 380 maples inside colour from late November into December. The mild coastal climate puts blossom and autumn leaves in the same view.
