Dewa Sanzan pilgrims, the gyonin,pray on a platform in a temporary hut.

In the temple grounds a temporary hut is built, and Shinto priests, monks and gyonin, who are people who have made the pilgrimage to Dewa Sanzan, climb to the second-floor platform to pray to the gods and buddhas. Said to have been brought by a priest from Dewa in the Kyoho era, it is a nationally selected intangible folk cultural property.

Beside the ruins of an ancient office,a small lane the locals call "Shogun Road".

The Chōjagadaira ruins are the remains of a Nara-to-Heian government office (kanga), covering about 220 m north to south and at least 350 m east to west. The Tōsandō road remains on the boundary between the city and Sakura, called "Shogun Road" locally, and is still a straight lane about 2 m wide. The designated area is shared with Sakura.

This deck arch bridge of reinforced concrete with open spandrels, 112.5 m long, crosses the gorge of the Naka River on the Hitachi-Ōta–Nasukarasuyama main local road. The present bridge is the third, completed in 1937. Its semicircular balconies on the piers are its signature, and it was recognized as a JSCE Selected Civil Engineering Heritage in fiscal 2007.
